Strengths For This Online Tool
- This site provides teachers with an opportunity to create and keep track of their lesson plans. Teachers can create, utilize, and reuse their lesson plans.
- This site allows the teacher to pair rubrics up with their lessons that they create. These rubrics can be created by the teacher themselves on the website, or uploaded as a pdf document.
- This site aids teachers in providing Content Standards to base their lesson planning off of. This online tools also helps check off the standards as the teacher meets them in his/her instruction.
Weaknesses For This Online Tool
- This site is very beneficial, but extremely time consuming. It is already time consuming, especially your first year to enter in all lesson plans needed. You build your schedule also on this site and this step can be tedious. It is, after it is entered in, very beneficial.
- In your Timetable, you cannot add in your lesson planning or additional information. It took me a while to figure out where to go to enter in my actual lesson plan information. There are two places that could be added in to fix this problem: in the Timetable and where you are creating your subjects. The only way you can add information into your lesson plans is if you go to Planboard link in the drop down bar. This is easy enough now, but for simple access, adding in other methods to get to where you create your lesson plans would be beneficial.
- In order to delete a subject/lesson plan that you have created, you have to check all boxes pertaining what you want deleted and be sure to type out the name before the site allows you to delete the information. Though this is sometimes a good thing in certain instances such as if you click the wrong item to discard, it seems to be a tedious task to click and type everything about what you are wanting to delete.
- Resources that explain functionality for this site is limited. It is basically an explore and learn as you go site from what I have experienced in using it. The usability, however, is fairly straightforward. The only problem is that this site has so much to offer that some users might not get to utilize all that it offers.
